Glutathione – The master antioxidant
Unless you are a medical practitioner the chances are you have never heard of glutathione, so why am I posting about it here?
Glutathione (GSH) is an important antioxidant in plants, animals, fungi and some bacteria and archaea, preventing damage to important cellular components caused by reactive oxygen species such as free radicals and peroxides.
Glutathione is the most important antioxidant in the body and is vital for health, but what exactly does it do?
Glutathione is a substance that is found in every cell of the body, and has been called the master antioxidant. It is such an important antioxidant as it is actually within the body’s cells and it also regulates the actions of lesser antioxidants such as vitamin C and vitamin E.
We produce it in our cells in the mitochondria, if we have the necessary ingredients on board.
Without sufficient levels of effective anti-oxidants in our cells other antioxidants are unable to do their job. This leads to chronic inflammation which is seen as the root cause of almost every major disease.
Watch what Dr Oz has to say about glutathione:
Glutathione is essential for all life.
How to achieve adequate levels of glutathione
We may be able to include the necessary building blocks by perhaps eating a more varied and simple, natural diet.
Sulphurous foods, and massive amounts of fresh dark green leafy veggies are needed.
However, this would require dedication and would be very difficult during the longer randonnees.
We cannot ingest glutathione directly as it is neutralised in our gut
It can be injected and this is often the first thing that happens when trauma patients are admitted to a hospital emergency centre. However this is a very expensive procedure and is impractical for regular health management.
The most effective way to boost your body’s glutathione levels is to take the essential ingredients that the body uses to make its own glutathione in the right proportions.
Dr Robert Keller spent his life researching glutathione and developed a supplement which provides the building blocks our bodies need to support the production of glutathione in our cells’ mitochondria. It is the most effective way to boost
Dr Keller had a distinguished academic career after achieving MD with Honors, and being elected to AOA at Temple University, and training in Internal Medicine, Immunology and Hematology at the University of Rochester and the Mayo Clinic.
The Consumer’s Research Council named him one of America’s Top Physicians in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 in the fields of Internal Medicine, Immunology and Hematology.
Around 1996, Dr. Keller began working on a supplement to raise one’s intracellular glutathione levels. His many years of trial and error led to a great success as in 2006 he introduced his glutathione boosting supplement to the market.
This is such a powerful product it has been given a compositional patent normally reserved for pharmaceutical drugs.
This product is now marketed under the name Rob Keller MD Original Glutathione Formula
I am so convinced of its effectiveness that I take it regularly and know it makes a difference.
